I just think it’s counterintuitive for someone who’s got this whole antichrist anti-religion vibe to dig so deeply into that vibe. I’m listening to this album and I randomly feel like I gotta pull out the Bible to figure out what we’re singing about. Is this music specifically for edgy Christians?
I don’t think I’ve heard a Marylin Manson song outside of The Beautiful People and that awful Eurythmics cover. The production surprised me, albeit slightly. Drums are exactly what I’d expect. Bass is crunchy. But the guitars give off light overdrive telecaster single coil more than heavy distortion humbuckers.i think they sound good in the context so it’s a surprisingly thoughtful choice.
