It’s a vibe, everybody knows that. Pretty sure I’ve never actually listened to it all the way through until not, though. Which is really weird for an album I feel I have so much random knowledge of. How Kurt was super nervous. How they refused to add hits to the setlist. How they got Pat Smear and he blew them away knowing that one chord in The Man Who Sold The World. Their refusal of an encore. Like, it’s cool that this acoustic live performance became such an essential album all of its own. Incredible that the compromise between the band’s hatred of the industry and doing just enough within it allowed their “cred” to remain while reaching an absurd level of popularity.
